WAS WORKING IN PR ALWAYS ON THE AGENDA?
Originally, I was studying acting, so I did a lot of amateur theatre, I was studying speech and drama with the Trinity college of London. I was doing private lessons and I did that basically from about the age of seven through till 18, and I truly loved it! I then left school and began an international trade university degree, I lasted 18 months and knew it was not for me. A few friends had told me, I think you'd be great in PR and I ended up getting into a PR course. During that time, I started to get lead roles at local theatre companies here in Melbourne. I had one of those ‘sliding doors’ moment, as I was offered a job at Sportsgirl and a lead role on stage. My mother said, "I'm not going to support a non-paid actress. I suggest you get a job." And the next thing you know, I was working at Sportsgirl in PR and became brand manager. I was there for six years and that has led into the rest of my career.
